One of my favorite things to do with the kids in the fall is go to the Dahlia Barn in North Bend. We went on one of those gorgeous sunny fall days we had this year. This year the dahlias were amazing! We spent the first few minutes admiring all of the beautiful colors and different styles of dahlias. There were some so big, they were referred to as "dinner plate" dahlias...they were so big they could fill a dinner plate! After about 10 minutes, the boys were done and headed over to play with the toy trucks in the dirt and check out the chickens. Elly, on the other hand, walked each row with me excitedly commenting on all of the beautiful flowers, "oh my goodness, look how beautiful this one is!" was repeated again and again. She pointed out all the ones she wanted me to cut for her room. It was precious to experience it through her eyes.

Ooh, gorgeousness! Dahlias are one of the very best things about autumn. (and a fab photo op too!)
